At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Volkswagen will be presenting the new electric concept of the Microbus. 


Volkswagen wants to show that is improving on contemporary connectivity technologies by presenting a newly developed electric drive system.

Due to the latest emissions scandal, Volkswagen is in the absolute need to rebuild their image and reputation. Driven by the zero local emission targets, the German manufacturer relies on the latest lithium-ion battery technology (also used by Audi R8 E-Tron and Audi Q6 E-Tron Quattro concept), in order to provide a range of between 250 – 310 miles.

The president and chief executive of the company, Gary Shapiro mentioned that the Microbus will be a ground-breaking electric vehicle that will be the best example of how the Internet of Things and the automobile industry collaborates.

Herbert Diess said that the Consumer Electronics Show is an opportunity for Volkswagen to show the world how the brand has changed over time. He wants to show that the new era of electromobility has already began for Volkswagen.
